BIODYNAMIC CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

WHAT IS BIODYNAMIC CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY?

Biodynamic craniosacral therapy is a gentle, non-invasive holistic therapy that, by tuning into the body’s subtle rhythms, is able to work directly with the body's inherent healing ability.

These subtle rhythms are a direct expression of the body’s health. Their primary source is the cerebrospinal fluid which bathes the whole nervous system.

In the biodynamic approach the subtle body rhythms are regarded as a fundamental expression of mind-body health and vitality. During traumatic and stressful life events our body sustains a disruption or alteration of the natural rhythm’s flow. The body becomes ‘patterned’ and conditioned while these life experiences are locked in the body, bringing about symptoms which can include fatigue, headaches, digestive problems, and depression.

HOW CAN BIODYNAMIC CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY CAN BENEFIT YOU?

The aim of the treatment is to enhance the latent capacity of the body’s self-healing and self-regulation mechanisms. This is done with hands-on contact, as the therapist encourages the right conditions to dissipate unresolved forces trapped in the body. Also, the therapist’s non-judgemental and grounded presence can be a reflective mirror for the patient at the body-mind and emotional level.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A SESSION?

At the first session a full medical history is taken. During the treatment you remain clothed and will usually lie face-up. I gently place my hands on your body and ‘listen’ to its different systems and tissues, as well as the subtler qualities of the biorhythms. It is common to feel deep relaxation, a sense of ease and balance, lightness - and even to fall asleep.

WHAT CONDITIONS RESPOND WELL TO BIODYNAMIC CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY (BCST)?

BCST is suitable for everyone. New-borns, toddlers, children, adults, pregnant women... I regularly work with patients suffering from conditions including depression, fatigue, digestive issues, hormonal issues, stress, emotional trauma, and musculo-skeletal pain.
